Valentine's Day Dollar Tree D.I.Y.

It's just NINE days until a totally fictional holiday, but if it involves candy & a reason to tell those around me I love them....I'm IN!

Need a couple of QUICK & INEXPENSIVE ideas?!?!?!?!

I had an unusual bout of insomnia Saturday evening & decided to make the best of it...

I crafted & prayed.  Both were MUCH needed.

I whipped up some cookie tins & treat boxes for the LOVE fest.

I recycled some coffee tins. I covered them in scrapbook paper.  Hot glued ribbon (Hobby Lobby) to the top & bottom of the can.  I took some doilies from the Dollar Tree & bunched them up into "flowers".  Hot glued some embellishments onto the can...and Ta-Da!  I plan on baking some cookies & wrapping them in cello bags & putting them into the fancy cans for Valentine's Day.  So easy!

The treat boxes (found at the Dollar Tree) are perfect for a few pieces of candy & a love note.  I wrapped scrap paper around the box & glued.  Added an embellishment.  Tied a cute little ribbon around the handle & scrunched up a doily & tucked it into the box.
Perfect for co-workers, teachers & friends!

Another fun little thing I've done this Valentine's Day is Happy Mail for my kiddos.

I picked up these darling mailboxes from the Target Dollar Spot.  Embellished them with the kiddos' names & place a treat inside them each morning February 1st - 14th.
Now, my kiddos are almost 16, 17 & almost 21 (two of my children have February birthdays), but they really look forward to the treats OR at least act excited to make their mama feel good. (smile) (Oh, I realize there are 4 mailboxes...the extra is for my son's "friend".)

I hope this inspires you to share a little OR a lot of LOVE this Valentine's Day.
There are so many out there that could use an extra measure.
GO. BE. LOVE.

John 13:34-35
“Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.”

On a side note...I have some exciting news to share on Friday...
if you're in the K.C. area...be sure to stay tuned!
