Yesterday, I finally decided I would organize & inventory my art supplies. Since our move a month ago, I really haven't had the energy or time to "create". And, you know what...my soul feels empty. My mind is all whirly. And, my hands itch to cut, glue, paint, stamp, stitch & sew. In me, there is an inherent need to create. And, you know what...that makes me like my Savior. In Ephesians 2:10 it says that we are His workmanship. He created us! We are his masterpieces.
The problem is...I feel guilty. There is always a MILLION other things that I could be doing. I work full time outside the home in a pretty demanding job. I'm a wife & mother. All those things make for a "To Do" list a mile long.
So, I've decided that I'm carving out time to create. To feed my soul. To get my hands dirty. And, to help others.
Today, Jill is hosting an auction on Instagram for Sole Hope. You can follow Jill on Instagram @99wpm. You can learn more about Sole Hope here.
I donated a little something for the auction. And, a lot of folks much more talented than me did as well.
I also decided to participate in some upcoming exchanges on Instagram. Below is a sneak peek of one. This exchange is so fun. You create or purchase (from a small handmade business) a Christmas item. You also include instructions on how to replicate your item OR where to purchase the item & send it to your partner. To enter the exchange, you pay $5. The $5 goes to a family who is raising money for their adoption. You also have the AWESOME opportunity to send a duplicate of your handmade item to the family so they can host an auction & raise even more funds. So, now...I'm crafting for a cause! It's a win-win!
While I was going through my art supplies, I found some old doodles. I had completely forgotten I used to doodle.
Nothing fancy. Certainly not a lot of talent. But, still fun.
Today, I hope you'll consider taking a look at Jill's auction for Sole Hope. Purchase Christmas gifts & support a wonderful cause. Again, a win-win.
Focus on the truth that you are HIS workmanship. His beautiful creation.
And, as Jill would remind you....
