Monday....A Menagerie

Hey! Hey!
It's Monday!
Let's do this!

Can I be honest?
I really feel more like the picture below.
Except I can't figure out how to get Linus, my rat, to do my hair!

But, this is what I know!

Yesterday, during my quiet time, I was reminded of this...

Psalms 1 in The Message says this...
"God charts the road you take."

And, in Psalms 4 in The Message, we are promised...
"He listens the split second I call to him."

With Him, we are BIGGER than our struggle.

So, I took some time to design a plan for my DAY yesterday,
my life felt a little overwhelming (le sigh), but I knew I could plan out
ONE DAY
to tackle all the things that were looming over me.

So, after a quick trip to the grocery store
because I knew I couldn't tackle even
ONE MORE DAY
without coffee.
I got down to business.
I spent some time soaking in His promises,
and then I made my list.

And, can I be honest....most everything on there...
I did NOT want to do.

But, here is just a little of how it went....

I turned up the tunes.

I mowed the lawn.

I cleaned out animal cages & mopped the breezeway.

I gave Linus a bath.
Yes, I bathe my rat.

I gave Lincoln a bath.

I gave myself a bath.
And, this is REAL life on Sunday.
No make up, pigtails & glasses.

I meal prepped for the week.
I'll share more on that on Friday!

I also did a load of laundry, ironed all my clothes, planned my outfits for the week,
and last but not least
I cleaned out our deep freeze in the garage
which evidently got zapped during one of the storms we had lately...
and I didn't know it.

Y'all....it was awful.
It makes my heart hurt to think of all the food that rotted.
And, then having to clean it up....
I. CAN'T. EVEN.

Needless to say, I went through three trash bags, a gallon of bleach,
two rolls of paper towels, one pair of yellow rubber gloves, and used the garden hose.
I'm still not over it.

But, you know what....
it's DONE.
I did it.
I deserve a medal.
And, God Bless all the sanitation workers.
Especially mine when they pick up my trash tomorrow.
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO sorry.

Then I settled in...
started catching up on Season 4 of Elementary
because Jonny Lee Miller
is my man & wrote some HAPPY MAIL.

Because there is nothing I like more than HAPPY MAIL...
except maybe Jonny Lee Miller...
feel free to drop him in my post ANYTIME.
Seriously...am I right?
Top that off with a British accent...
are you kidding me?

And, FINALLY
this kid has a birthday today!
Happy 20th, McQuiston William Mirich Bowes!
You truly are a ROCK STAR!
(I'll share more pics this week of Mac & Brave The Spirit
performing at Buzz Beach Ball)
I am so blessed to be your mama.

Make the most of your Monday, friends!
It's gonna be a GREAT ONE!
