Last week, I eluded to by "Affirmation Box" when I talked
about "Loving My Hat".
I shared some of the affirmations that I carry around
about relationships.
A few months ago, I read a book that really changed my thinking.
One of the things that the author suggested was writing
down affirmations & reading them daily.
I was at the point in my life where I desired
TRUE change. I was tired of talking ABOUT it &
I was ready to DO it.
I was a walking Nike advertisement...
"JUST DO IT"!
So, I begin to write down things that I would read that I wanted
to get through my THICK skull. Affirmations, quotes, scripture verses...
I wrote them down & I stuck them in my "Affirmation Box".
I tucked the box into my Mary Poppins' size purse
(I mean...really? What is ONE more thing when you already carry your entire house?)
And, I began to read them.
Every morning...every night...
And, the times in between when I would find myself with a few minutes on my hands.
And, a CRAZY thing happened...
My thinking started to CHANGE!
Anytime I would resort BACK to my old way of
thinking or doing things....
one of my affirmations would
POP
into my head.
And, so...
I started adding more & more to my
Affirmation Box.
I keep blank cards in there now,
so I write them down as I come across them.
So, if you're looking to ZHUSH up your thinking...
give this a try.
I couldn't imagine NOT having one now.
Write down those scriptures you want to soak into your spirit,
lay down those relationship rules & make them AIR TIGHT,
set your fitness goals, your work motivation, parenting advice...
JUST WRITE IT DOWN
AND
LOOK AT IT DAILY.
So, there ya have it...

simple
