Is it REALLY Thursday??
Where has this week gone?
I thought I would share with you some of my favorite thrifted finds
throughout my house. Of course, with it being "event season"
at my full time gig as a non-profit director...
I didn't take pictures until late in the evening.
I discovered two things...
LIGHTING MATTERS
and
I am NOT a photographer.
I readily admit that I do NOT have the "eye" with the camera.
Maybe a photography course is in my future.
So, forgive my ineptitude with a camera, and
just admire my finds from the Goodwill.
I thought we would start in my bedroom this week...
All the plates above my bed are thrift finds from Goodwill.
I purchased the mirror at Target on clearance & one day
decided to take the plate from the center of the arrangement
and replace it with the mirror.
I like it.
It's unexpected and fills in the space.
The whole arrangement came in under $25!
The mirror tray, the glass vase & the books were all thrifted.
I love trays.
They are perfect for groupings.
And, make things look tidy.
I dig that.
I grab vintage books wherever I can find them for cheap!
This lamp was too short for the items arranged around it.
By placing it on top of a couple of books...
it becomes just the right height.
Glass vases are in abundance at the Goodwill.
I like to buy ones with more unusual shapes.
I filled this one with shells I collected on a trip to the Gulf Coast.
This is a thrifted frame.
I shared a little about it on Tuesday on the blog.
And, I created the glass stand by gluing a candlestick
& plate together that I thrifted. I picked up the cloche while I was out thrifting too.
If you can't tell....I have a thing for cuffs!
I am a lover of words.
And, the cuffs let me wear things that are meaningful to me.
I showcase them in an old wooden cash register drawer.
I actually did a dumpster dive for this one.
I'm not to proud to grab someone's trash & make it my treasure.
I gave it a coat of cream paint so the cuffs really
POPPED!
And, don't y'all just love the Target Dollar Spot???
I picked up several of these fake succulents this past spring for $3 a piece.
And, I can't kill them.
Because I can't take pictures & I can't keep plants alive.
See, AWFUL lighting.
I picked up the shelf at Goodwill & gave it a coat of paint.
The little water colors I found at Bella Patina in the West Bottoms.
I love water colors!
They might be my favorite paint medium.
While not a thrift find, I did grab the bird hook on clearance.
I hung a basket from it.
It houses all my charging cords & a couple of books.
Keeps some of the clutter off my nightstand.
I first came up with the idea in my last house when my room arrangement
didn't allow for a nightstand on one side of the bed.
So, the basket held what I needed instead.
Pretty slick.
The wreath if from the talented Anna (@feltit on IG).
She makes the most amazing creations.
I was lucky enough to purchase a few of her wreaths through
an instasale. I gave a couple away for gifts, but couldn't part with this one.
The wall art is all Hobby Lobby clearance.or was purchased with
the 40 % off coupon. Cuz if you buy anything at HL at full price...
you are a little nutso.
Just WALK ON BY if it isn't on sale or you already used your coupon,
because I guarantee...it will be on sale next week.
Am I right?
So, there ya have it...
Thriftalicious Thursday.
Make it TERRIFIC!
Jillain, you are SO right! I've actually had employees at Hobby Lobby tell me that they alternate what's on sale every other week; so if what you want isn't on sale this week, check back next week and chances are it will be! Of course, if you're in a pinch and just have one thing that's not on sale, use your 40% off coupon from their app. on your phone! I'm so glad your mom shares your blog on FB. I'm enjoying reading your posts! - Cinda O'Keefe (former NCAA coworker of your parents)
